My split ends thank me for using this luxurious microfiber towel

I recently received a microfiber hair towel and didn’t know what I was missing all this time!  I took a shower and I brushed my hair in the shower with my conditioner.  I usually use a regular towel that is dried from the sun, which is kind of hard.  I used this microfiber towel and can I just say it was extremely luxurious feeling!!! I cannot believe this gave me a feeling like I was at the spa.  I didn’t think I would be so excited about this Luxe Towel, but I was totally!

I noticed that when I dried my hair with this towel the next few times, it definitely made a difference.  It was not harsh on my hair like the sun dried towel.  It is the perfect size for anyone’s head.  It will work for long or short.  I have long hair and it bundled it up just right.

Why should you use this microfiber towel as opposed to a regular cotton one?

In my opinion, it is because it is more gently on the hair.  I didn’t notice a rapid drying time with it, but this towel did seem to give me a 10 minute head start on the drying time.  If I used a cotton towel, it didn’t absorb as good as this microfiber towel did.

What the heck is a Flub Buster ? Anti-Cellulite Cream Review

SKIN-QR-Organics-Nuelle-Cellulite-Firming-CreamI recently received a tube of cream called NuElle that said it had 25 Flub Busters.  I googled Flub Buster, and that is not a term anywhere! Go ahead and try it!  The phrase “Flub Buster” should be trademarked by Skin QR Organics. Wait, did you guys mean “Flab Buster”?

I used it for a couple weeks on my inner thighs and back of my thighs, missing some days here and there.  When I was using it, I noticed that my skin looked tighter and less flubby.  I mean flabby.  The appearance of my inner thighs looked smoother and were definitely more moisturized.

The cream has real caffeine (Coffea Arabica) in it, I was scared to try it because I didn’t know if the caffeine would penetrate enough into my bloodstream to cause me to be wired.  I know that’s funny…maybe?  Well lately I don’t tolerate caffeine really well so that is why I try not to have any, in any form.  The back says, “Due to diuretic effect this product might cause, we do not recommend this product for use while pregnant.”  I’m not pregnant but the word diuretic made me nervous.

I applied it the first time and I didn’t feel any caffeine wired feeling.  My skin got a little warm though.  I was scared again thinking my skin was going to burn off or something.  I have high anxiety, so don’t mind me.  I read the ingredients and felt better emotionally because they were mostly organic plants/herbs/flowers.  Until I got to one of the last ingredients.  Phenoxyethanol.  Phenoxyethanol is at a rating of 4 (from 1-10) on the overall hazard scale as seen here at Environmental Working Group’s website.  It is known to cause organ system toxicity.   WHAT!?  Come on QR Organics!  All the rest of the ingredients are good though.  So it’s not a total throw away.  If you use this a couple days before the beach on your problem areas, your skin will look more tight.  If you use every day for life, then I’d be worried for you because of the Phenoxyethanol.  The smell is refreshing.  The consistency was like lotion and not greasy, so that was a plus.

Excuse the glare, if you want to read the bottle better, go to their Amazon page here

Forte Bellezza Ergonomic Handle Eyelash Curler Review

Today I received an eyelash curler from Forte Bellezza.  Right away out of the package I realized this was a well made eyelash curler.  It is not one you get from walmart or something.  It is heavier and seems like if you drop it for some crazy reason, it will be intact when you pick it up.  The ergonomic handles are the absolute best.  Holding it up to your eyelash is not awkward like it usually is with standard ones. The handles are said to be non slip too.  I didn’t notice a different with that.  I really never slipped my fingers on a eyelash curler, but it’s still good to know that it IS non slip.

I’m a woman who loves pink, so the handle color just made me feel all warm and fuzzy.  Forte Bellezza eyelash curlers would be great gifts for the make-up artists or enthusiasts.

They send a set of rubber replacements for your curler too!  When you’re not using your eyelash curler, you can lock it into place.  The little lever on one of the pink finger holders locks into place in the other finger holder.

I really enjoyed playing with these and making my eyelashes curl up.  I didn’t have any mascara on when I did this.  I’ve been told my eyelashes are long, so I’m lucky for that one I guess!  This eyelash curler really accentuated my eyelashes and the curl made my eye look larger, more awake, and perkier.  I am amazed!  I didn’t put mascara on after the curl and it lasted at least an hour, because I kept checking for about an hour.  I then had to tend to the 3 year old and forgot to check.

Here is my before and after using the curler.
I’m giving away one of these!  Check my contest out here!

InstaNatural Cleansing Facial Oil and Makeup Remover in One – Review

Today I received a 4 ounce bottle of Deep Cleansing Facial Oil and Makeup Remover by InstaNatural to review.  It says it is a Skin & Pore Purifier, Gentle and Reviving!  As of this post, it retails for $19.99.  They give a 100% money back guarantee on it too!

I was taken aback by this product. I thought for sure my face would become oily after using it. I was wrong. I was surprised like many before me who have reviewed this facial oil. It not only cleans your face with a nice smooth touch but makes it softer. Yes, it does feel like oil on your face when you’re cleaning it, but it will wash off and not remain. I used a sponge to clean my face and the facial oil cleanser washed out of the sponge too.  It is like a yellow tint to it and smells like a citrus field.  Not quite orange, but close to that range, so it is very pleasant!

I removed some eyeliner with this too. Works and it’s easy to put some on a cotton ball and throw away, rather than trying to scrub it off with a washcloth, then you have to put the washcloth in the washer with eyeliner on it. It’s like Cat in the Hat. This eliminates that.

I love the ingredients! Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Essential Oils, Hemp Oil, Tamanu Oil, and Sea Buckthorn Oil. I love that they are organic. Thank you for sending me this to review for my honest opinion. I love this stuff!!!!

100 Percent Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil Review

Today I received a big 4 ounce bottle of 100% Australian Tea Tree Oil from Apothecary Extracts.  I could smell it from inside the shipping box.  Then there was another box as shown in my picture.  I was sure that it was spilled or broken, given the smell, but sure enough it was intact.  This is pharmaceutical grade, so it is 100% potent.

So you are wondering what Tea Tree Oil is?

From WebMD: “Tea tree oil is derived from the leaves of the tea tree. The tea tree was named by eighteenth century sailors, who made tea that smelled like nutmeg from the leaves of the tree growing on the swampy southeast Australian coast. Do not confuse the tea tree with the unrelated common tea plant that is used to make black and green teas.”

I was interested in using this Tea Tree Oil to heal a dry itchy patch on my skin that keeps reappearing.  It’s the size of a quarter and it will fade slightly when I use Vitamin C serum, but still comes back if I stop.  So I wanted to try this.  Then I read on the box that I shouldn’t apply it to any irritated skin or rash.  Well, I didn’t listen.  I did listen to the warning about the strength though.  I got my coconut oil out and mixed four 1 teaspoons and 1 teaspoon of this Tea Tree oil together.  I applied it to the itchy patch.  It did slightly tingle the area but nothing too extreme.

UPDATE: 9/10/2014:  I’ve applied this to the itchy scaly patch about a dozen times, (mixed with the coconut oil as a carrier).  It did lessen the itchiness and the scaliness.  It seems to work just as good or slightly better than vitamin c serum for this particular problem.

I really like the ebook they sent with this.  It tells you how you can use the oil for different things like, household cleaner, skin and hair care, and over 50 different recipes for it!

Something that is always on everyone’s mind is if it’s really “100% pure” or “100% natural”.  This is copy and pasted from their Q & A page on Amazon:
Q: Can you confirm this is 100% Tea Tree oil? I’m tired of buying essential oils advertising as 100% just to find out stuff is added.

A:  That’s something we were concerned about as well. When we went looking for a source we spent a lot of money on sophisticated tests to find a 100% pure Australian Tea Tree Oil. What we found is that nearly everything coming out of China had been adulterated in some way. And even some of the brands that claim to be using Australian product are watering their product down with other substances. These 2 tests show that the ‘peaks’ of the graph are exactly where they should be for a 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil.  Hope that helps. (They provided links to graphs and a report.(See below as I got them from this companies links)

Apothecary Extracts only sell their Tea Tree Oil on Amazon.
More from their Amazon page:
Contemporary Uses: Tea Tree Essential Oil is best known as a very powerful immune stimulant. It can help to fight all three categories of infectious organisms (bacteria, fungi, and viruses), and there is evidence that Tea Tree Oil massages prior to an operation may help to fortify the body and reduce post-operative shock. Used in vapor therapy, Tea Tree Oil can help with colds, measles, sinusitis and viral infections. For skin and hair, Tea Tree has been used to combat acne, oily skin, head lice, dandruff, toenail fungus, yeast infections, skin tags, cold sores, dandruff, and ringworm.
The Australian standards require that the oil of Melaleuca alternifolia must be composed of less than 15 cineole and over 30 terpinen-4-ol. You can request copies of our Gas Chromatography reports which show that Apothecary Extracts’ Tea Tree Oil is not only compliant with these regulations but surpasses them. Apothecary Extracts is composed of less than 5 cineole and over 35 terpinen-4-ol which qualifies for Pharmaceutical Grade as established by the Australian Tea Tree Oil Industry Association. It is 100% pure and unadulterated. No fillers, additives, bases or carriers added.

History: Apothecary Extracts Tea Tree Oil is a pure oil culled from the leaves of a tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) native to Australia. The aboriginal people of Australia have long used Tea tree oil. The Aborigines would bathe in medicinal pools of water where the tea tree leaves had naturally settled. In World War Two, the producers and the cutters of Tea Tree were exempt from military service until enough essential oil had been accumulated. The oil was a highly valued product as it was issued to each soldier and sailor as part of their kit in order to treat tropical infections and infected wounds. Description: The Tea Tree is a small tree or shrub with needle-like leaves. It can grow up to 7 meters (20 feet) in height and thrives in marshy areas, though it is now cultivated in plantations. The Tea Tree is very robust; it is ready for cutting only two years after its’ previous harvest. General Information: Packaged in dark amber glass bottle with euro style dropper. | Botanical Name: Melaleuca alternifolia | Plant Part: Leaves | Extraction Method: Steam Distilled | Origin: Australia | Color: Colorless to pale yellow clear liquid.| Aromatic Scent: Tee Tree Essential Oil has a fresh, antiseptic and medicinal scent. It also has characteristic mint and spice back-notes. | Strength of Aroma: Medium | Blends well with: Cinnamon Bark, Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Geranium, Lavender, Lemon, Myrrh, Nutmeg, Rosewood, Rosemary and Thyme.

I would definitely recommend this product for anyone wanting to use healthier products on their skin and around the house.  You can do so much with Tea Tree Oil.

Here are a few examples:

  • Use tea tree oil to clear acne
  • Use tea tree oil to remove makeup
  • Use tea tree oil to soothe sores
  • Use tea tree oil to fight foot odor
  • Use tea tree oil to eliminate toenail fungus
  • Use tea tree oil to treat the chicken pox

Or here is a magical list of 80 uses for Tea Tree Oil! (This will open a new page in your browser)

Tea Tree Oil should be in every medicine cabinet, and every essential oil connoisseur’s goody bag.

Raw Unrefined African Organic Shea Butter Imported from Ghana South Africa Review

Raw-Shea-Butter-Beauty-By-Shea-Block-4Today I received a 1 pound block of 100% Organic Raw Unrefined African Shea Butter from Beauty by Shea to review.

I opened it up and realized it was a nice big block.  I did not know that it was going to be in a block, for some reason, I thought it was going to be already in a lotion form.  After that initial shock, I was really happy to see it come in the block form, so I could make my own lotions and soaps.  I have never done that before, but I plan on making some in time to try it before the holidays.  Homemade shea butter lotion for stocking stuffers.  I think it sounds good.
Ok, so if you’re family or friends, pretend you didn’t read that!!!!

I really loved using this straight from the block, (it was more like a squished block.)  Due to the heat, the block got a little soft on it’s way to me, so it wasn’t actually a block.  I would suggest that you two day this product or even overnight if you want it in the block.

I put a dime-quarter sized piece of the block in my palm.  The directions said it will just melt in your palm.  It really did!  I took a picture of it.  As you see above, the middle of my palm still has a little piece that did not “melt” completely.  Around that piece is how the shea butter softens out and then you can apply.

I applied it to my dry feet.  I always have dry feet.  I wear flip flops 90% of the time and even in the winter.  (Hey, I live in Florida!)  Wearing flippy flops do dry out my feet.  I was amazed as soon as I rubbed this lotion into my feet, they looked nourished, healthier, and moisturized!  I didn’t see one dry area on my feet.  I also put some shea butter on both of my elbows.  They were much better after one application, but I did have to keep applying this to my elbows every day to keep them soft.  I did not have to apply the shea butter to my feet again for a few days.

It did take A LOT of time to rub that sized piece of the shea butter into both my feet and elbows.  I kept rubbing it in because there felt like so much on my skin that I needed to rub until it was absorbed.  So a LITTLE goes a long way!  Trust me on that one!  I would suggest a dime size, divide it in half, each half for one foot.  I cannot stress enough how a little goes a long way.

The smell was slight like a nutty aroma.  It did not overwhelm me or make me smell like peanut butter or anything.  As soon as it was absorbed into my skin, I could smell it even less.  Within a couple of hours, I didn’t smell any shea butter on my skin.

I did not try it in my hair yet, if I do, I will come back and edit and update!

You do not need to make a lotion or soap out of this to reap the benefits.  The raw organic twice filtered shea butter is perfect as it is, in my opinion.  You won’t be disappointed in the moisture it brings your skin.  You will feel happy knowing that this is a pure and natural one ingredient moisturizer for your whole body.

L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation Review

Today I received a full size tube of L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation to review in exchange for my honest opinion from SheSpeaks.

It came in a pretty little box with nice pink tissue paper.  I tried it on right away!  I was amazed how the texture seemed like a chocolate souffle feel to it. It seems like a whipped dessert or something. l absolutely loved the way it felt going on my skin. I couldn’t believe it! I am going to
switch to L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation because it makes my face look less rough and more smooth. The name of this foundation is spot on. It really does blur out imperfections. I love how you can see it go on and where it was put on. I can still feel it on 14 hours later.
