Navigating Emotions for Parents Ebook Review

Today I received an eBook to review called Navigating Emotions for Parents from Presenceparenting.com
To win your own copy of the ebook, enter at my giveaway here!

It seems like a bible for the emotions that sometimes get the best of you as a parent.  I like that it guides you and suggests ideas in a gentle manor.  If you are having a hard time with any kind of issue with keeping your emotions organized, then this book should help you.

The first line in this book asks you an important question?
“Would you like to choose how you respond when parenting feels intense?”

If you say yes or maybe, then this book is a no brainer.  Navigating Emotions can help you and your family and your kids become more harmonious if you follow the guidelines.  The book is only 28 pages, but it is FULL of wonderful suggestions.  It doesn’t feel like a lecture, just a guidance from mom to other parents.

This book guides you for occasions like how to navigate around that you yelled at your child then felt bad afterwards.  Or when you feel angry and the emotion keeps getting stronger and stronger the more your child misbehaves.  Everyone has been there as a parent.  Sometimes you had a bad day yourself and take it out on your child with yelling more often.  This book is going to help you handle parenting in a more easy going manner.

I read the book and have definitely applied some lessons to my own behavior.  I love my child up to the sky and down, and the sky never stops going up, but we all get a little angry sometimes!

eBook – Terry Treetop and the Lost Egg Review

terry_treetop_and_the_lost_egg_eBook_free
Today I received a really cute eBook to read my son.  It is called Terry Treetop and the Lost Egg.   I thought it was going to be about Easter, and so did my son.  He kept asking where the Easter Bunny was.  I had to tell him that some animals have eggs to make other animals.  He was confused but as I read on and as he looked at the pictures, I think he understood what I told him.  The book teaches children to be kind to animals.  It also teaches them to never give up.  It shows them another side to animals that they normally wouldn’t see, the egg that makes another animal.   It’s a cute and fun read.  The illustrations are what put the icing on the cake for this book.  Terry is an extremely cute and likable character.

UPDATE as of 9/26/14 This eBook is $0.00 for Kindle!  Get it free and join the Terry Treetop series.  Really cute for ages 2-6

Vegetarian Quick & Easy – Under 15 Minutes: (100 Simple Natural Foods Recipes) by Jonathan Vine – Review

Today I received a free ebook to review by Jonathan Vine titled, Vegetarian Quick & Easy – Under 15 Minutes: (100 Simple Natural Foods Recipes)

I read it all back to back right away and do appreciate the amount of work that went into this recipe book.

I did know a little about being a vegetarian since I have been one for a year and a half now.
When I first became a meatless eater, I was a vegan for 8 months. I then started craving eggs and cheese.  I gave in and decided to eat very little of each.  This book will work for those nights you just have no inspiration and need something quick and meatless.  I am a big fan of promoting the MEATLESS MONDAYS catch phrase.

Even if you are not a vegetarian, these recipes are great for ANYONE,(accept Vegans or lactose intolerant people).  There are many many recipes with dairy/cheese in them.  If you are either, you could use Daiya Cheese (Check how many products are free of CHEESE!) and Silk Almond Milk to replace the cow kind.  I’ve done it with many recipes, including a couple of these by Jonathan Vine.
Check out my review of his Vegetarian Weight Loss eBook here!

UPDATE JULY 8 2014:
I have been using some of these recipes for over a month now and I can tell you that they are delicious and awesome!  I really liked a few recipes and LOVED a lot of them.  They will be regular meals in my meatless repertoire.  Even
if you are not a vegetarian, these could be good “Meatless Monday” meals for you and your family to enjoy.

Vegetarians can have fast food too, just read this recipe book and you’ll have many quick meals to choose from!
The recipes that stand out for me and happen to love are:
ENDIVE BOATS
SPICY WHITE BEAN DIP
TWO LAYER HUMMUS
MEXICAN VEGETARIAN SUSHI
STICKY RICE BALLS
DATE & COCONUT BITES
ROASTED BELL PEPPER SOUP

Vegetarian Weight loss ebook with recipes Review

Today I received a free ebook by Jonathan Vine titled, Vegetarian Weight Loss: How to Achieve Healthy Living & Low Fat Lifestyle (Weight Maintenance & Heart Healthy) (Special Diet Cookbooks & Vegetarian Recipes Collection Book 1)

I read it all back to back right away and do appreciate the information.  I did know a little about being a vegetarian since I have been one for a year and a half now.  I am a big carb eater and can verify as the book states, you will not lose weight if you are eating too many carbs, like bread and pasta.  This is my downfall, along with tortillas and rice.

When I first became a meatless eater, I was a vegan for 8 months. I then started craving eggs and cheese.  I gave in and decided to eat very little of each.  This book will work for you if you follow it to a T.  If you think just because you become vegetarian you will lose weight just like that, you might be wrong.  It takes more to it then that as outlined in the book. He suggests how to go gradually into a vegetarian diet, as it would be easier than just cold turkey.  That is good advice since most people are still on the fence, even after years of thinking about it.

UPDATE JUNE 20 2014:
I have been using some of these recipes for about a month now and I can tell you that they are delicious and awesome!  I really liked a few recipes and LOVED four of them.  They will be regular meals in my meatless repertoire.  Even if you are not a vegetarian, these could be good “meatless Monday” meals for you and your family to enjoy.  I tried to follow the diet, less carbs, more plant food.  I did lose 2 pounds this month, so it does work.  If you are more diligent about it, you could lose more.

Vegetarians can be unhealthy or healthy.  If you want to be a healthy vegetarian, follow this diet plan!

The 4 recipes that stand out for me and happen to love and have made are:

Spicy Bean Burgers   Jonathan Vine Recipe

Black Bean Croquettes   Jonathan Vine Recipe

Sweet Potato Pasta   Jonathan Vine Recipe

Greek Spinach Pie   Jonathan Vine Recipe

I like that he gives you advice about eating out on the vegetarian diet.  It’s not as hard as you might think.  Don’t be afraid to ask your waiter/waitress for help!

If you read the book and you are not a vegetarian but are thinking about it, I think it will push you into your decision easier. Jonathan Vine has another book with Vegetarian Recipes in under 15 minutes that will FURTHER push you into either an AHHA moment or make your mouth water. To read my review of Jonathan Vine’s ,go here – Vegetarian Quick & Easy – Under 15 Minutes: (100 Simple Natural Foods Recipes).

Chance for Love: Dangerous Romance Ebook Review

Today I received a free copy of a Chance for Love: Dangerous Romance by Rachelle Ayala.  I received an ebook to read on my Kindle.  I am going to read each one and write my thoughts as I go.  I will be updating this post during my readings and publishing the post once I have finished the 3 books.

I like romance books so I was excited to read this.  It is always fun to discover new writers.  I love the way the Internet allows authors, that are not household names, to get their books out there.  I think more people should be reading in general, but also reading books by authors they have never heard of before.  I am hoping to spread the word about this author.  I will be updating this as I read the books.

The author Rachelle Ayala seems to write many genres in one book.  I just learned about her and skimmed her website and do know that she is a risk taker and not afraid to write her own way.

Rachelle Ayala writes inside and outside of the box, and maybe even around it too.

This is a steal getting these 3 books for this price! WOW!

Broken Build
Notes while I am reading this book:
I liked the storyline and loved the unconventional type romance that was portrayed in this book.  This book was along the lines of a murder mystery type romance.  During the second chapter a plot twist made me say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?  I was thinking someone was going to be the love interest but indeed I was WRONG!!!!  It kept you guessing and wanting to read more to find out what was going to happen next.  Even if the usual book you read is a soft romance like a Nicholas Sparks book, you should give this a try.  It should peak your interest, but you need to give it to the 3rd or 4th chapter to get used to the storyline and the writer’s unique storytelling.

During some of the story, I didn’t understand the technical terms Jen and other characters were talking about with their work.  I might have to be an engineer or programmer to get them.  What kept me intrigued was the suspense.   I couldn’t wait for the steamy scenes and I wasn’t disappointed when I got there.

Hidden Under Her Heart *(my favorite out of the 3)*
Notes while I am reading this book:
This book just started off so sweetly, unlike the first book.  This book had a tender feel to it.  The writing flowed and was easy to follow.  Maryanne is a professional nurse and she’s sworn off sex.  But Lucas has been trying to win her over with flowers, chocolates, and a quirky sense of humor.  She plays hard to get.
But then he pulls back.  Then she pulls back. Then he pulls back. It’s a never ending cycle with these two.  In their defense, they do have a lot of things going on.  I just do not understand why they can’t help each other instead of sabotaging their very real connection!

I teared up at the end of chapter 4.  It was that lovely of a conversation.

The two leads totally play cat and mouse and switch it up. Will they EVER get it right!  I love the heartwarming moments and I cannot wait until they finally get it on!  Maybe the two finally getting it on will be the happy ending! HA HA!

The ending did not disappoint.  I read this in less than a day.  I couldn’t wait for what was to finally come about.
Sweet book.  I liked this one much better than the first one.

Knowing Vera
Notes while I am reading this book:
This book was good.  I was turning the pages to find out what happened next.  It was the same as the first book.  With that I mean that it was written with a mystery and romance.  Vera was the girlfriend in the second book to Maryanne.  I think!  I like the concept of writing romance with mystery.  It is a nice touch.  I didn’t get to finish this book, only 4 chapters to go.  I am hoping to finish tonight!

Here is some copy from Rachelle Ayala’s website about each book in this bundle.  Each book can be read as a standalone book though.  At this moment, all 3 books in the set are only .99!  You can go to the Amazon link right here.

Broken Build – Exciting Romantic Suspense/Technothriller set in Silicon Valley. A female engineer hides a horrible secret. Can she escape discovery, a killer, and a broken heart?
Hidden Under Her Heart – A heartfelt romance sizzling with controversy. A young nurse swears off sex to land a marrying man. But an unexpected pregnancy and a dark secret threaten her chance for true love.
Knowing Vera – Suspenseful romance, an unsolved murder, and love on the beach. A young woman seeks to prove her father innocent of murdering her boyfriend’s mother.
Three full-length novels: Over 300,000 words, 915 pages, No Cliffhangers, Happy Endings
I got this box below of Rachelle Ayala’s information from a website called iam-indeed

This Man book by Jodi Ellen Malpas Review

Today I received two copies of This Man, the first of the trilogy.  It’s written by Jodi Ellen Malpas.  The cover looks exactly like the 50 Shades of Grey cover.  I’m pretty sure that was intentional to get readers of that trilogy, interested in this trilogy.   I think this book needs it’s own unique cover.   Jesse Ward seems like an abusive guy at first.  I can’t say he changes his way, as I haven’t read the other two books.  Ava seems to be enchanted with this jerk, but it’s probably more about lust.  I know he has a soft side, but at first he really seems like someone she should stay far away from.  Jodi Ellen Malpas has pretty good flow with the characters she created.  The words she used aren’t overly big words, which makes it an easy read for most people.  If you’re interested in this type of erotica genre books, I recommend starting this trilogy.  I’m going to lend one of the books to a friend, (if you’re reading, just let me know where to send it).  Then that friend can send it to one of their friends and so on.  Email me!
I am curious about what happens in the next books!
