Raw Unrefined African Organic Shea Butter Imported from Ghana South Africa Review

Raw-Shea-Butter-Beauty-By-Shea-Block-4Today I received a 1 pound block of 100% Organic Raw Unrefined African Shea Butter from Beauty by Shea to review.

I opened it up and realized it was a nice big block.  I did not know that it was going to be in a block, for some reason, I thought it was going to be already in a lotion form.  After that initial shock, I was really happy to see it come in the block form, so I could make my own lotions and soaps.  I have never done that before, but I plan on making some in time to try it before the holidays.  Homemade shea butter lotion for stocking stuffers.  I think it sounds good.
Ok, so if you’re family or friends, pretend you didn’t read that!!!!

I really loved using this straight from the block, (it was more like a squished block.)  Due to the heat, the block got a little soft on it’s way to me, so it wasn’t actually a block.  I would suggest that you two day this product or even overnight if you want it in the block.

I put a dime-quarter sized piece of the block in my palm.  The directions said it will just melt in your palm.  It really did!  I took a picture of it.  As you see above, the middle of my palm still has a little piece that did not “melt” completely.  Around that piece is how the shea butter softens out and then you can apply.

I applied it to my dry feet.  I always have dry feet.  I wear flip flops 90% of the time and even in the winter.  (Hey, I live in Florida!)  Wearing flippy flops do dry out my feet.  I was amazed as soon as I rubbed this lotion into my feet, they looked nourished, healthier, and moisturized!  I didn’t see one dry area on my feet.  I also put some shea butter on both of my elbows.  They were much better after one application, but I did have to keep applying this to my elbows every day to keep them soft.  I did not have to apply the shea butter to my feet again for a few days.

It did take A LOT of time to rub that sized piece of the shea butter into both my feet and elbows.  I kept rubbing it in because there felt like so much on my skin that I needed to rub until it was absorbed.  So a LITTLE goes a long way!  Trust me on that one!  I would suggest a dime size, divide it in half, each half for one foot.  I cannot stress enough how a little goes a long way.

The smell was slight like a nutty aroma.  It did not overwhelm me or make me smell like peanut butter or anything.  As soon as it was absorbed into my skin, I could smell it even less.  Within a couple of hours, I didn’t smell any shea butter on my skin.

I did not try it in my hair yet, if I do, I will come back and edit and update!

You do not need to make a lotion or soap out of this to reap the benefits.  The raw organic twice filtered shea butter is perfect as it is, in my opinion.  You won’t be disappointed in the moisture it brings your skin.  You will feel happy knowing that this is a pure and natural one ingredient moisturizer for your whole body.

Dead Sea Mud Shampoo by Adovia Review

Today I received a FREE 7.4 ounce bottle of Adovia’s Dead Sea Mud Shampoo.  I used it tonight in the shower.  It does not look like mud, so do not think you will be putting a mud type mask on your hair.  It is a normal type consistency for a shampoo.  It is dark brown and very smooth.  It smells good, but nothing like the sea or anything.  It is more of a flower soapy smell.

Anytime I go into the ocean, my naturally curly hair always gets more curlier.  I am contributing that to the salt in the ocean.  The ringlets get pretty perfect.  I always said I need to bottle up the salt water in the ocean to rinse my hair at home to get my curls like that all the time.  Well I was expecting those same results because I read “Dead Sea Mud”, thinking it would be salty.  It is not salty.  If it wasn’t called Dead Sea Mud Shampoo, I would never know some of the ingredients were from the Ocean.

It made my hair have absolutely no oil to it.  There was a feel of extreme clean on my hair, like it stripped away any trace of oil.  It was a different and unique feel that I cannot quite explain.

EDIT: June 10th.  I’ve used this product for almost a month and I do like it.  I do not notice a different look to my hair, but the feel is less oily. If you have oily hair and problems with oily scalp, I bet this will work for you.  I have dry curly hair so I have to use a conditioner, (I used the Dead Sea Salt Deep Hair Conditioner – for Dry or Damaged Hair – Great for Natural Curly Hair by Adovia).  The combination of both the Shampoo and the Conditioner made my hair silky and oil free.  I still have to use a mouse or hair gel to keep my hair from frizzing though.  See my review for the Dead Sea Salt Deep Hair Conditioner – for Dry or Damaged Hair – Great for Natural Curly Hair here.  I have good ringlets with this routine.  Dead Sea Mud Shampoo, Dead Sea Salt Conditioner, hair gel or mousse right out of the shower on very wet hair.

F ree Pampers Diapers and Free Pampers Wipes Review

FREE Pampers Diapers and Free Pampers Wipes and REVIEW

I received 1 pack of Pampers diapers and one pack of Pampers sensitive wipes to try.  I was supposed to upload a video, but could not figure out how to do it from my cell phone.  I have since figured it out and if another program opens up, I am ready to do a video!  The wipes seemed thick and smelled lovely.  They do say sensitive, but they seem to sting my son’s behind.  He usually cried when I used these wipes.  He did have a rash on a few days of using these wipes.  I thought with the word “sensitive” in the wipe title, they would be gentle on his skin.  The diapers seemed to work like any other diaper.  They did not hold up during the night.  I used these and they actually leaked about 10 times.  I do not know why, but I am assuming the fit didn’t work for my son.  I use Pampers diapers and wipes when there is a sale and I can use coupons.  I think that most diapers are basically the same. I have not found one that holds up perfectly during the night.  I do know that compared to Huggies, he had more wet sheets with Pampers than with Huggies.  I like the Pampers Gifts to Grow program and collect the points.  I am excited to FINALLY get a toy or something for my son.  I have been saving the points since he was a baby and I am almost to 2,000 points.  What shall I get him!!!  Thank you Pampers!
